eng We analyzed the NEIC broadband radiated energy catalogue and found that the scaling law of earthquake energy deduced from Gutenegberg-Richter’s law is not valid in a quantitative sense. The analysis of broadband radiated energy, however, also shows a scaling law, which may be represented by a broadband b value.
