hrv U radu je opisano što je to webGIS-tehnologija i koje su njezine prednosti i mane. Prikazane su različite webGIS-arhitekture s kritičkim osvrtom na svaku od njih. Detaljno je opisano funkcioniranje serverske i klijentske strane webGIS-arhitekture. Zatim su opisani formati podataka koji se koriste u webGIS-u i koje su prednosti i mane svakog formata. Na kraju je dan prikaz trenutačne situacije u webGIS-u, tj. opisani su najvažniji predstavnici web kartografije koji čine najveći dio web kartografskih aplikacija danas.
eng The paper brings the definition of webGIS technology and its advantages and disadvantages. There are different webGIS architectures described with the review of each of them. The paper describes in details the operation of server and clients in webGIS architecture. There are also the data formats described that are used in webGIS, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each format. At the end there is a description of current situation in webGIS given, i.e. there are the most important representatives of web cartography described that make today the largest part of web cartographic applications.
